I'm a bit skeptical about wearables that measure anything beyond heart rate. Has anyone found consistent reliable data from any other sensors that acting upon proved to be a boon?

Wouldn't the sleep stage algorithm use the accelerometer data? Counting steps is useful.

So there is real research that has come from this industry. I just have a hard time getting over the fact that it’s entirely just for elite tech bros so they can live forever, continue to talk about how much smarter they are then everyone and pay no taxes.

Well, I guess A16Z and the rest of the VCs aren’t ready to commit to Quantum after all when more healthcare grifts are ready and waiting for investor dollars.

Snide response aside, I will say that they’re correct that healthcare is a big upcoming boom opportunity. We’ve been quietly running healthcare experiments globally for over a century, and have quite a lot of data on what does and does not work. With globalism firmly here, there is a very real need to standardize healthcare globally around new institutions, systems, and processes that benefit patients as well as optimize distribution of care.

I can get on board with the systems side, but peptides and other hokey-health sales pitches? For real? Fuck all the way off with that unless you’ve got peer-reviewed studies backing up your assertions, I’m tired of griftos hawking silver solutions and vet medicines in lieu of actual science. Just because you fear your own mortality to the point of risking entirely unproven chemicals and drugs of unknown provenance doesn’t mean this should be the next billion-dollar industry.

Everything A16Z does everyday looks, feels and sounds like a scam. Why work in real pharma when you can sell peptides and the fashionable trend of the day to podcast bros, the same ones they were trying to sell on crypto?

    This industry's a sham.
